Sharon Duncan Sikeston, MO, Obituary– Montgomery Bank Mourns Loss Of colleague
We are deeply saddened to share that Montgomery Bank lost one of its own this week. Sharon Duncan, a teller in our Sikeston Region, passed away after a valiant battle with cancer.
Sharon had been a cherished member of the Sikeston team and our broader Montgomery Bank family since joining us in 2017. Sharon Lea Edwards Duncan, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Sikeston, MO, on April 15, 2026. Born in Sikeston on March 30, 1947, she was a lifelong community member, graduating from Morehouse High School in 1965.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Sue Yerges; her children, Kenny Duncan and Kim Alcorn; siblings Stan Yerges and Susie Lawrence; grandchildren Miranda Heath, Ethan Duncan, and Kinley Alcorn; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Huston Dale Duncan, her father Jack D. Edwards, brother Lacy Edwards, and sister Bonnie Edwards.
Sharon’s warmth and dedication extended beyond her family to her colleagues and customers. Her friendly presence at the teller window was a constant source of kindness and professionalism, making her not just an employee, but a friend to many in the Sikeston community.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, followed by a Graveside Service at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The Montgomery Bank family extends its heartfelt condolences to Sharon’s loved ones. We will remember her not only for her service but for the genuine care and grace she brought to every interaction. Her memory will remain a blessing to us all.
